Pastor joseph G. Casper JR.

Pastor joseph G. Casper JR. He was ordained as Deacon in 1993, by Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Virginia, under the Pastoral leadership of Pastor Joseph L. Roberts, where he served faithfully for nine years. In 2001 Pastor Casper graduated from the University of Lynchburg, Virginia Seminary School of Religion. After his call to the ministry, he was licensed to preach the gospel by Zion Baptist Church on May 26, 2002, under the Pastoral leadership of Dr. J. Michael Little.

As an Outreach Minister, Pastor Casper delivered powerful, spirit-filled messages, to the lost and homeless at Zion Baptist Church's "Drop-In" Outreach Ministry Center. He also ministered to those who were sick and shut-in at area nursing facilities and hospitals. He was awarded a “Certificate of Recognition” from the City of Portsmouth’s National Day of Prayer Celebration on May 6, 2004.

On January 8, 2006, Pastor Casper was ordained to the position, Assistant to the Pastor, by the late Pastor George E. Henry, Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Norfolk, Virginia. He, then, was installed as Bethel's fifth Pastor on April 8, 2007.

He is retired from the City of Portsmouth where he worked for 19 years as a heavy Equipment Operator.
